What we did — A full infrastructure audit mapped every dependency on that server. We virtualised the critical workloads onto resilient hardware, implemented verified nightly backups with a tested restore process, and documented a recovery runbook the shop-floor supervisor could follow without escalation.

Outcome — Unplanned downtime fell substantially within the first quarter. A verified restore now completes in under four hours, against an unknown and untested position before the engagement.

Challenge — A major OEM customer introduced a supplier security assessment. The business had no documented security posture, shared administrator passwords across departments, and a firewall last configured several years earlier.

What we did — A cyber security and risk review established the real exposure. We rebuilt access control on a least-privilege basis, replaced shared credentials, reconfigured perimeter security, hardened email against invoice fraud, and produced the documentation the customer assessment required.

Outcome — The supplier assessment was passed without remedial actions raised, and the business retained the contract.

Challenge — IT costs had risen year on year without a clear reason. Three vendors held overlapping AMC agreements, and site connectivity was still unreliable despite the spend.

What we did — A vendor and AMC review examined every agreement line by line, identifying duplicated coverage and services being paid for but not delivered. We consolidated to a single accountable arrangement and redesigned the inter-site links.

Outcome — Recurring IT spend reduced materially at the next renewal cycle, with better site connectivity and one clear point of accountability instead of three.
